	Magnetic revives old film for Billy Crystal’s play 700 Sundays.

	This wasn’t our first time working with Broadway. Last year we produced serveral pieces for Yakov Smirnoff and his one man play. Which has aired on PBS.


	Billy Crystal’s production company needed to revive old 8mm film footage from the 50’s for the play. The film was standard 8mm color film used in home cameras at the time. The quality was poor, we needed to start at the beginning, by using liquid gate transfer to get the most from what was there, and by using the flame to color correct. We also had to rebuild a few frames since the film had been damaged. The targa image files from the flame were rendered in several resolutions and edited back into their original sequences. Different aspect ratio and resolution videos play back in sync at the Broadway performance.


	700 Sundays is a solo show created and performed by Billy Crystal. It's an autobiographical journey in which Crystal plays numerous characters who have influenced who he is today. It deals with his youth, growing up in the jazz world of Manhattan, his teenage years, and finally adulthood. Billy Crystal says about 700 Sundays: "I am thrilled to come home and bring this story of my family to Broadway. As an artist, I've never felt as complete as I have developing and performing this show. This is not a history of my career, it is about periods of my life and people in my life that helped make me a man."
